The Ka mag-anak 
Foundation Celebration

The 15th of March was a big day for the newly founded association Ka mag-anak. Many members and a lot more guests came together just for the purpose to celebrate the foundation of the club. And many members had worked hard before, training, organizing, soliciting prizes and so on. Now everything paid back. The raffle was huge, with a free flight to Manila (donated from Vollmer Reisen) and a total value of more than 3000 Euro. 

The celebration started as usual, with the national anthems of the Philippines and Germany. Then Sheryl, our president opened the official part of the  celebration with a great speech, delivered from her heart. She welcomed all our guests, who had come from many countries, just to be part of our fest. They came from the UK, Finland, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium and the Philippines. Then she thanked all our members for their hard and committed work to make the event a success. And she said a big thank you for all our sponsors who have made such a big raffle possible. Furthermore she said thank you to the people of PCI, who without any discussion helped us with this event. And finally she did say thank you to the major of the city of Reinheim, Mr. Hartmann and Vice Consul Gary Auxilian together with  his wife Vita, who both made a little speech afterwards congratulating the people of Ka mag-anak for their achievements and the noble purpose of the club. And then our moderators Tetchie and Frederick took over and led through the program. 

Well, there were several reasons for the people to join in this event. And one reason for sure was, they wanted to dance with the famous Filipino Show band Music@Tcha. So there was not much delay, the dancing started soon. But before the kids dance group of Ka mag-anak started the show and the audience was shouting and clapping when they saw the little ones performing their first Hawaiian dance. 

There was a lot of opportunity to dance. After every show block there was time to dance the heart away. But there was a lot of presentations to see as well. The Carinosa Dance group was on stage, the Alay Kapwa dancers did a great show with their modern traditional Muslim dance, the Ka mag-anak kids had several performances, the girl group of Ka mag-anak entertained the audience with their sexy dances, even a male member joined in one dance, Then we had two magicians performing some magic tricks on the stage, and Frederick once more demonstrated his show talents with his exciting choreography of some modern dances. And even more, he showed as well that he could sing fantastically. Then Thomas Schuele demonstrated that besides singing operas he had no problem finding his was to Frank Sinatra. Unfortunately he did not prepare to sing another song when the audience was shouting: ZUGABE, ZUGABE... (Meaning : one more....). But there was another duet together with Sheryl, our president which went just as well. 

All in All, when the people had collected their prizes, everybody went home happy, tired and with the promise to come back again, when Ka mag-anak organizes the next event. We are all looking forward to see everybody again.
